Working Principle: The gateway receives control commands and speed reference values from upper PLC via Profibus DP. The module converts Profibus protocol data into MOVILINK bus frames and sends commands to each connected SEW drive. It collects operating status, torque, current and fault data from all drives through MOVILINK bus, packages data and transmits back to PLC. The module monitors bus communication quality continuously and triggers fault indication when communication timeout or cable failure occurs.
Installation Requirements:
- Mount gateway module on standard DIN rail inside electrical cabinet
- Use shielded twisted pair Profibus cable for fieldbus wiring
- Set bus address and termination switch according to network topology
- Separate fieldbus signal cables from motor power cables
- Connect 24 VDC power supply and protective earth reliably
- Keep cabinet ambient temperature below +60 °C
Usage Notes:
- Configure Profibus address and connected drive quantity before commissioning
- Check bus termination setting at both ends of Profibus network
- Verify cable shielding earthing at one end only to avoid ground loops
- Disconnect 24 VDC power before changing wiring or network configuration
- Inspect bus cable integrity periodically
- Avoid running fieldbus cables parallel with high frequency inverter power cables
