- Offshore platform emergency shutdown and fire/gas systems.
- Nuclear power plant auxiliary safety monitoring.
- High-speed compressor and turbine protection systems.
Performance Parameters:
- System Latency: Internal Triconex communication latency is strictly maintained at ≤1ms.
- Network Throughput: Ethernet interfaces support 10/100Mbps adaptive negotiation with high data throughput for SCADA and DCS integration.
- Reliability: Designed for continuous operation exceeding 1500 hours even after a single module failure.
Material Composition & Structural Characteristics:
- Enclosure: Ruggedized industrial housing with IP20 protection rating.
- PCB: Multi-layer board with advanced thermal management, including heat sinks and thermal vias for the high-speed processor.
- Dimensions: 225 mm x 112 mm x 40 mm, weighing approximately 2.2 kg.
Working Principle: The MP6004 operates as part of a Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) trio. Three identical processors execute the exact same safety application code simultaneously. A hardware voter continuously compares the outputs of all three processors. If one processor deviates due to a fault, the voter isolates it, and the remaining two processors maintain safe control. The module also manages encrypted data transmission (via optional TLS 1.2) to protect against cyber threats.
Installation Requirements:
- Chassis Compatibility: Must be installed in designated main processor slots within a Triconex Trident chassis.
- Network Cabling: Connect primary and secondary Ethernet ports to redundant network switches using CAT5e/CAT6 shielded cables.
- Software Configuration: Load the safety application and configure IP addresses, subnet masks, and redundancy parameters using TriStation 1131 software before commissioning.
Usage Precautions:
- Firmware Matching: Ensure the firmware version on the MP6004 exactly matches the versions of all other modules in the chassis and the TriStation software version.
- Battery Backup: The module contains an internal battery for memory retention; follow manufacturer guidelines for battery replacement to prevent loss of configuration.
- Thermal Management: Ensure the chassis cooling fans are operational and air filters are clean, as the 1 GHz processor generates significant heat.
