Description
ABB HAI805
- Technical Specifications:
- Input Signal: 4–20 mA DC (sink type — transmitter powered from module’s loop supply or external 24 V DC)
- Channels: 8, independently configurable
- Resolution: 12-bit A/D (some versions 14-bit / 16-bit with oversampling)
- Accuracy: ±0.1 % of full scale @ 25 °C; ±0.15 % over temp range
- Input Impedance: ≈250 Ω (for 4–20 mA loop termination)
- HART Support: Bell 202 FSK pass-through; each channel has HART modem or module supports HART multiplexing via HART Communication Server
- Open-Sensor Detection: Reports “<3.6 mA” as sensor break; “>22 mA” as over-range
- Isolation: Input-to-logic ≥300 V DC working, 1500 V AC test 1 min; channel-to-channel common-mode (group isolated)
- Module Power: From HN800 I/O bus backplane (5 V / 24 V DC)
- Operating Temp.: –20 °C to +60 °C (–40 °C start-up)
- Mounting: On SD-series termination unit (HBX01 / HTU series) — DIN rail in I/O cabinet
- Diagnostics: Per-module Run / Fault / Warning LEDs; channel error reported to controller
- Functional Features:
- HART 5/6/7 compliant — allows online calibration, device diagnostics, multivariable readback via HART
- Software-selectable engineering unit scaling (0–100 %, 0–xxx °C, etc.)
- High rejection of 50/60 Hz noise (digital filtering)
- Compatible with ABB Symphony Plus / INFI 90 Evolution controllers via HN800 bus
- Application Scenarios:
- Process variable acquisition from smart HART transmitters — pressure, differential pressure (flow), temperature (via 4–20 mA XTR), level (radar/DP), analyzer output
- Refinery / petrochemical DCS — where HART device management is required
- Power plant — drum level (DP cell), feedwater flow, bearing temperature (4–20 mA XTR on RTD)
- Material & Structure / Working Principle / Installation / Precautions:
- Plug HAI805 into SD termination unit (e.g., HBX01L); wire 4–20 mA + / – from transmitter to Ix(+), Ix(–)/common
- Provide 24 V DC loop power externally or use module’s internal exciter (check jumper — some versions supply 24 V externally only)
- In engineering tool, assign starting analog input address; enable HART option if device management required
- Precaution: Do NOT connect voltage >30 V to input terminals; verify loop polarity; for HART to work, loop resistance must be ≥250 Ω (module provides this internally — do NOT add external 250 Ω unless specified)
- Shield twisted-pair for analog signals; ground shield at one end (cabinet earth)
