Functional Features The extended 2.5 inch case length provides increased mounting depth for thicker housings while maintaining the compact M8 x 1 thread. The 1.2 inch unthreaded length ensures proper sensing element positioning beyond the mounting surface. The NSv design provides superior side-view characteristics for confined installations. The probe is fully interchangeable with other 3300 XL NSv components.
Application Scenarios Compact compressor monitoring with thick housings, small turbine installations requiring deeper probe penetration, pump monitoring with extended mounting adapters, generator monitoring in confined spaces, industrial fan bearing monitoring with thick mounting plates, machinery with deep M8 threaded mounting holes.
Performance Parameters The probe delivers 7.87 V/mm sensitivity with linearity within system specifications. The extended case adds approximately 1.1 g per mm to the probe weight. The 1.0 meter cable maintains stable electrical characteristics across the full temperature range. The system maintains full interchangeability.
Material Composition Probe tip is polyphenylene sulfide (PPS). Probe case is AISI 304 stainless steel. Cable is 75 Ω triaxial with FEP insulation. Connector material is gold-plated brass.
Structural Characteristics The probe features M8 x 1 metric thread with a 2.5 inch case length. The 1.2 inch unthreaded length positions the sensing element at the correct distance from the mounting surface. The non-armored cable has a standard outside diameter for flexible routing. The ClickLoc connector provides secure locking engagement.
Working Principle The probe generates a high-frequency electromagnetic field at the 5 mm probe tip. Eddy currents induced in the target surface modify the RF field. The Proximitor Sensor detects these modifications and outputs a DC voltage proportional to the gap distance. The extended case length does not affect the electrical performance.
