Functional Features Non-contact measurement eliminates mechanical friction and wear between probe and rotating shaft. 6mm ultra-wide measuring range adapts to large rotor floating clearance measurement. High temperature resistant stainless steel and ceramic packaging adapts to high temperature bearing housing environment. Large-diameter sensing coil has strong signal stability for large target metal surface. Shielded coaxial extension cable reduces external electromagnetic interference. Compatible with EPRO CON011 and CON021 series signal converters to convert gap value into standard analog signal. High resolution captures micrometer-level displacement variation within full wide measuring range. Threaded mounting structure supports precise adjustment of installation gap.
Application Scenarios Large steam turbine axial thrust displacement monitoring, heavy-duty centrifugal compressor shaft position measurement, large hydro-generator rotor vibration monitoring, large industrial gas turbine rotor displacement monitoring, super large fan and pump rotor condition monitoring.
Performance Parameters High linearity maintained within full 6mm measuring range. Micrometer-level displacement resolution for capturing tiny vibration amplitude. Probe maintains stable measurement characteristic under continuous high temperature and vibration environment. Shielded coaxial cable restrains conducted electromagnetic interference from power equipment. Measurement linearity keeps stable after repeated temperature cycling. Threaded mounting structure maintains fixed gap after lock nut tightening under machine vibration.
Material Composition Probe shell: High strength stainless steel alloy. Sensing coil: High temperature enameled copper wire wound coil encapsulated in ceramic. Insulation encapsulation: High temperature resistant solid ceramic material. Threaded fitting and lock nut: Stainless steel material. Sealing filler: High temperature insulating sealant. External matched cable: Fluorine plastic insulated shielded coaxial cable.
Structural Features Large cylindrical probe body with external thread for installation on heavy-duty bearing housing. Solid ceramic tip encapsulates large-size sensing coil. Probe rear end is equipped with connector for connecting external coaxial extension cable. External thread structure matched with lock nut to fix probe after gap adjustment. Large tip sensing area adapts to large diameter metal rotor surface.
Working Principle When matched signal converter sends high-frequency excitation current to probe internal coil through external coaxial cable, alternating magnetic field generates at probe tip. When metal shaft is placed near probe tip, eddy current forms on metal surface. Eddy current produces reverse magnetic field and changes coil impedance. The impedance value depends on the gap distance between probe tip and metal shaft. The signal converter detects coil impedance variation and converts gap distance into standard analog signal. The machinery monitoring system collects analog signal and calculates shaft vibration amplitude and relative position.
Installation Requirements Drill and tap large-size threaded hole on rotating machine bearing housing according to probe thread specification. Screw probe into threaded hole, adjust gap between probe tip and metal shaft into specified working range. Tighten lock nut to fix probe position after gap adjustment. Connect external shielded coaxial cable to probe rear connector and route cable inside protection conduit, avoid sharp bending and pulling force. Connect coaxial cable to matched EPRO signal converter terminal. Complete gap calibration with standard large-size target block before machine startup. Check no contact between probe tip and rotating shaft after installation.
Usage Precautions Probe tip collision with rotating shaft will permanently damage internal coil and ceramic encapsulation. External coaxial cable cannot bear heavy tensile load, avoid sharp bending smaller than minimum bending radius. Do not cut or splice matched coaxial cable arbitrarily, which destroys measurement linearity. Probe must be matched with corresponding EPRO signal converter, cannot work independently. Strong external magnetic field near probe installation point affects measurement accuracy. Inspect probe and cable integrity during equipment overhaul.
