- Serial Data Rate: D.20 Link operates at 250 kbps with ±2000 V peak surge protection.
- Maintenance Port: RS-232 operating at a default data rate of 19200 bps.
Material Composition
Constructed with industrial-grade multi-layer printed circuit boards, high-speed DDR2 memory modules, and ruggedized embedded processors designed for continuous operation.
Structural Characteristics
Standard 3U tall, 19-inch wide horizontally mounted chassis form factor. Features front-panel LED indicators for system status, Ethernet link/activity, power supply, and IRIG synchronization.
Working Principle
The processor executes VxWorks applications to poll connected IEDs and peripheral modules via serial and Ethernet links. It stores the acquired data in its internal database and communicates with master stations or SCADA systems using standard utility protocols.
Installation Requirements
- Must be installed in a compatible D20 non-VME chassis (e.g., GE part number 500-0305).
- Connect the earth ground wire (14 AWG green wire) to a low-impedance ground rail before applying power.
- Connect power supply inputs to the backplane connector block TB1.
Usage Precautions
- Turn off all power supplying the equipment before installing or wiring the module.
- Do not power up the D20MX before establishing a proper protective earth connection.
- Ensure all serial cables used for permanent connections are shielded and utilize metallized connector covers for EMC compliance.
