Working Principle: The HYDRAN M2 employs advanced photoacoustic spectroscopy with a dual-beam configuration. Infrared radiation from a broadband source passes through an optical filter wheel containing interference filters tuned to specific gas absorption wavelengths. The filtered light enters the photoacoustic cell, where gas molecules absorb the radiation and generate pressure waves. A high-sensitivity microphone detects these acoustic signals. A reference beam compensates for source intensity variations and window contamination. The system uses chemometric algorithms to resolve overlapping absorption spectra and calculate individual gas concentrations with high precision.

Installation Requirements:

  • Mount on transformer tank or adjacent wall with vibration isolation
  • Connect oil sampling lines with proper purging before operation
  • Provide Ethernet connection to local network or SCADA
  • Ensure proper grounding of enclosure to transformer ground
  • Install surge protection on power and communication lines

Usage Precautions:

  • Allow 24-hour warm-up period after initial energization
  • Perform baseline measurement comparison with laboratory DGA results
  • Set alarm thresholds based on transformer loading and age
  • Update firmware only during scheduled maintenance windows
  • Maintain backup of configuration and historical data
