- Structural Features:
- Standard IC670 module width
- 8 red LED status indicators on front panel
- Two isolation barrier zones
- DIN-rail or chassis mount
- Working Principle:
- NPN sensors pull each input to ground when active. The opto-isolator detects the voltage change, and the CPU reads the logic state via the backplane bus. The two isolation groups allow mixing of high-voltage and low-voltage signals safely.
- Installation Requirements:
- Mount in IC693 or IC695 chassis
- Wire NPN sensors: sensor output to module input, sensor ground to module common
- Use 18-22 AWG wire
- Connect common terminal to 0V/ground
- Usage Precautions:
- NPN sensors only — do not use PNP
- Do not exceed 30VDC on any input
- Use shielded cable in high-EMI areas
- Do not leave inputs floating — wire all unused channels to a defined state
- Verify common ground connection is solid before powering up
