Working Principle
Under overload conditions, a bimetallic strip heats and bends to trip the mechanism. During a short circuit, a magnetic solenoid generates a strong magnetic field that instantly unlatches the mechanism, separating the contacts and extinguishing the arc.
Installation Requirements
Must be installed in a compatible panelboard or enclosure. Line and load terminals must be tightened to the manufacturer’s specified torque values. Ensure proper phase rotation and grounding.
Usage Precautions
Never bypass or tie down the breaker handle. Do not use as a routine disconnect switch for normal operations. Always de-energize the panel before installation and verify zero energy before maintenance.
