Working Principle After power on, the controller executes comprehensive hardware self-test. Dual independent processors run identical safety program and cross-check calculation results in every scan cycle. The controller reads field analog and digital signals from built-in I/O channels. When safety trip condition is triggered, the controller drives safety output channels to predefined safe state. Watchdog circuit monitors processor operation continuously. If calculation mismatch or program halt occurs, all safety outputs switch to safe state and fault event is recorded in non-volatile memory. SILWORX software downloads compiled safety program and supports online diagnosis.
Installation Requirements
- Mount controller on standard DIN rail inside control cabinet.
- Maintain vertical clearance above and below unit for natural convection heat dissipation.
- Use shielded twisted pair cable for SafeEthernet network wiring.
- Separate safety signal cables from high power motor and power cables.
- Complete protective earth connection for controller and cabinet.
- Download compiled safety program by SILWORX software after installation.
- Perform full system proof test to validate safety logic function.
- Set access password to restrict unauthorized program modification.
Usage Notes
- Do not remove controller from DIN rail when safety system remains online.
- Backup safety program and configuration before any program modification.
- Keep cabinet dry and free of corrosive gas, oil mist and conductive dust.
- Execute periodic SIL proof test according to safety requirement specification.
- Do not disassemble internal hardware components.
- Reset fault log only after root cause of fault is fully resolved.
- Verify network communication link after any network wiring modification.
