Material Composition ABS flame retardant housing Ethernet PHY chip Fiber optical transceiver module RJ45 and ST fiber connectors Optocoupler isolation circuits Gold-plated backplane connector

Structural Features Narrow rectangular DIN-rail mount housing. Front panel houses RJ45 Ethernet port and duplex ST fiber port. LED array shows link status for both ports. Side expansion bus connector. DIN rail mounting clip.

Working Principle The module receives process data from the CPU over the expansion bus. Data frames are packaged into Modbus TCP packets, transmitted over the RJ45 Ethernet or fiber optic port to upper SCADA systems. Inbound commands from the network pass through the module, forwarded to the CPU for execution. The fiber optical transceiver converts electrical Ethernet signals to 1310 nm optical signals for long-distance transmission. LEDs indicate link connection and data activity on both ports.

Installation Requirements Clip the module to the DIN rail on the expansion bus. Connect Ethernet patch cable to the RJ45 port, or fiber cables to the ST port. Assign IP address and subnet mask in PLC configuration software. Verify network ping communication from the engineering laptop.

Usage Notes Fiber cables bend radius must be ≥5 cm; tight kinks break the fiber core. Never look directly into active fiber end faces; laser light damages eyes. Ethernet cables routed away from high-voltage power cables. IP address must not conflict with other devices on the plant network.
