Honeywell 51402491-100

Product Introduction This digital output FTA termination module is the field drive termination assembly for Honeywell TDC3000 UCN digital output subsystem. Revision 100 is the stable baseline version. It serves as the wiring bridge between UCN digital output processor or multiplexer modules and field loads. It provides overvoltage protection, loop fusing and relay drive interface for 24V DC output signals. It receives drive signal from matched digital output processor cards and drives field solenoid valves, relays and indicator lights. It feeds back loop fault status to DCS system and simplifies discrete output marshalling wiring.

Functional Features It integrates independent fast blow fuse and TVS transient suppression diode for each output channel. It supports loop short circuit detection and fuse blown fault alarm. It carries out signal drive amplification between digital output processor card and field loads. It supports hot swap operation when paired with compatible digital output processor card. It stores channel supervision configuration in non-volatile memory. It uploads fuse blown alarm and channel wiring fault status to the DCS diagnostic system. It provides common return grouping for field load wiring marshalling.

Application Scenarios Field termination and drive interface for solenoid valve control loops in interlock systems. Relay and indicator light drive termination for pump, fan and compressor control logic. Auxiliary termination for batch sequence control output loops. Replacement and spare stocking for aging digital output FTA cards in legacy TPS UCN marshalling cabinets.

Material Composition PCB Substrate: High-TG flame-retardant FR-4 multi-layer glass fiber board Fast blow miniature fuse components TVS transient suppression diodes Drive buffer and freewheeling diode components for inductive loads Gold-plated back edge fingers Gold-plated field terminal block contacts Cold-rolled steel front panel with electrostatic spray coating

Structural Features Standard European pluggable card structure, installed in dedicated FTA slot of UCN marshalling rack. Front panel is equipped with run indicator light, fuse fault indicator light and group channel status indicator lights. Two groups of terminal blocks are arranged on the side panel, one for field load wiring and one for ribbon cable connection to digital output processor card. Each channel fuse adopts replaceable structure for convenient on-site maintenance. Freewheeling diodes are installed near inductive load terminals to absorb reverse electromotive force.

Working Principle Drive signals from digital output processor card enter the module through ribbon cable. The signal buffer circuit amplifies drive signal and transmits to field load terminals. Each channel passes through fuse and surge suppression circuit to absorb transient voltage spikes from inductive loads. The freewheeling diode absorbs reverse electromotive force generated by solenoid coils and relays. The supervision circuit continuously monitors loop current. When fuse blows or short circuit occurs, the module generates fault signal and uploads alarm information to the rack IOP processor.

Installation Requirements Insert the module vertically into the dedicated FTA slot of UCN marshalling rack and tighten fixing screws. Connect field load wiring to field terminals and ribbon cable to the digital output processor card side terminals. Use specified ribbon cable to connect this FTA module with corresponding digital output processor card. Download channel supervision configuration parameters from Control Builder software after power on. Verify output drive action and fuse fault alarm function on the HPM diagnostic screen.

Precautions Release static electricity before plugging the module to protect buffer and protection chips. Only replace fuse with the same rated current, higher rating fuse loses protection capability. Do not connect AC voltage loads to this module terminals. Check ribbon cable connection firmly, loose cable causes output loss and intermittent fault. This module must be used together with matching UCN digital output processor card, it cannot work independently.
