Description
Honeywell CC-TAON11
Technical Specifications 16 channels of redundant analog output termination; output signal range 4-20mA; each channel equipped with transient suppression components; rated loop power 24VDC; passive signal protection circuit; power supplied by rack 24VDC backplane; operating temperature 0℃ to 60℃; storage temperature -40℃ to 85℃; relative humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing; dual redundant IOM support; rack slot installation; UL, CE and Class I Division 2 hazardous area certification.
Functional Features It concentrates field regulating valve and actuator wiring to labeled screw terminal blocks. It suppresses transient voltage surge on analog output control loops. It receives 4-20mA control signal from two redundant analog output IOM modules. It outputs analog control current to field modulating equipment. It supports hot-swap of either redundant IOM module without disconnecting actuator control loop. It carries channel diagnostic function to detect output loop open circuit and short circuit fault.
Application Scenarios Redundant control valve analog output termination for refinery reactor control cabinets; regulating valve signal junction for chemical plant critical distillation loops; redundant speed control signal wiring base for power plant feedwater pump drives; modulating actuator output termination for offshore platform production control systems.
Performance Parameters Redundant switching realizes bumpless 4-20mA control output without valve jump; output current precision meets analog output module specification; surge protection circuit does not affect normal regulating signal; fault alarm information uploads to Experion operator station in controller scan cycle.
Material Composition Base housing uses flame-retardant PC engineering plastic; internal circuit board is FR4 high-temperature flame-retardant PCB with conformal coating; terminal conductive screws and shrapnel are tin-plated copper alloy; surge protection semiconductor components are industrial grade; backplane connector pins are gold-plated; metal locking bracket uses anti-rust coated cold rolled steel.
Structural Characteristics Single-width rack redundant termination base; front panel with channel number, output signal marking and screw terminals; rear dual backplane connector interfaces for primary and standby analog output IOM cards; fool-proof keying notch to prevent mismatched IOM insertion; side elastic latches for fastening to rack rail; terminal layout reserves enough space for actuator cable wiring.
Working Principle Control commands generated by C300 controller are sent to redundant analog output IOM modules. The IOM modules convert digital setpoint to 4-20mA analog control signal and send signal to CC-TAON11 through backplane. The IOTA transmits the analog current signal to field regulating actuators after surge protection. If the primary IOM module fails, the standby IOM takes over output, and the IOTA maintains continuous loop connection to avoid valve sudden action.
Installation Requirements Install the termination base on standard Experion rack rails. Confirm mechanical key matches redundant analog output IOM module before installation. Use shielded twisted pair cable for control valve actuator wiring. Separate analog output control cables and high-power AC cables. Torque all field terminal screws to the specified torque value. Cabinet grounding resistance ≤4Ω.
Usage Notes Do not connect AC high voltage to analog output terminals. Verify actuator loop load resistance meets 4-20mA output driving capacity before power-on. Wear anti-static wrist strap during IOM replacement. Test bumpless redundant switchover function with actual valve after commissioning. Do not remove the IOTA base while actuator control loops are energized.
