Honeywell CC-TAOX11

Product Introduction CC-TAOX11 is a redundant IOTA termination base matched with Honeywell CC-PAOX series analog output IOM modules for Experion PKS Series C system. It provides field signal wiring terminals, signal conditioning circuitry and loop power distribution for analog output channels. It supports redundant IOM pairing, enabling bumpless switchover between primary and standby analog output modules without interruption of control valve signals.

Description

Honeywell CC-TAOX11

Technical Specifications Channel capacity supports 16 analog output channels Field signal type 4-20mA Termination terminals accept 0.5mm² to 2.5mm² wire gauge Backplane interface designed for redundant TAOX IOM modules Operating temperature 0℃ to 60℃ Storage temperature -40℃ to 85℃ Humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing Each channel integrates surge suppression components Provides loop fault detection feedback to IOM module

Functional Features It serves as the wiring interface between analog output IOM and field valve positioners. It contains signal filtering and transient surge protection for each output channel. It supports dual redundant IOM connection so that standby module can take over output upon primary module failure. It routes loop diagnostic signals back to the paired IOM module for open-circuit and short-circuit detection. It provides mechanical keying to prevent mismatching with non-redundant IOM bases.

Application Scenarios Redundant 4-20mA valve control termination for critical control loops in petrochemical main units Redundant regulating valve output termination for power plant boiler main control Redundant analog output wiring base for natural gas pipeline pressure control loops Critical reactor temperature control output termination in fine chemical plants Redundant control signal termination for offshore platform regulating valves

Performance Parameters Terminal contact resistance remains stable below 10mΩ Surge protection clamps transient voltage above 36V Signal insertion loss is negligible for 4-20mA control signals Redundant switchover does not produce current spike on output loop

Material Composition Base substrate is FR4 flame retardant PCB with conformal coating Terminal blocks are glass-filled nylon with tin-plated copper contacts Surge suppression devices are TVS diodes and metal oxide varistors Base housing is gray flame retardant PC plastic Backplane connector contacts are gold plated

Structural Characteristics Horizontal rack-mount base occupying one rack slot Front side has organized screw terminal blocks grouped by channel numbers Back side has dual connectors for primary and redundant analog output IOM modules Mechanical fool-proof keys prevent installation of non-compatible IOM modules The base has passive convection thermal design

Working Principle Digital control commands from primary or standby CC-PAOX IOM pass through backplane connector into CC-TAOX11. The base routes the 4-20mA analog current signal to the corresponding field terminal connected to valve positioner. Built-in surge components absorb voltage spikes induced on field wiring. The base feeds back loop impedance information to the IOM so the module can diagnose open or short circuit conditions. When primary IOM fails, the standby IOM takes control of the same output channels through the shared termination base.

Installation Requirements Mount the IOTA base into Series C I/O rack slot before installing the paired IOM modules Field valve signal cables use shielded twisted pair Shield layer single-point grounding at control cabinet side Separate analog signal wiring from high-power AC cables Tighten terminal screws to manufacturer specified torque

Usage Notes This base is only for redundant analog output IOM configuration and cannot be used for non-redundant single IOM layout Verify channel wiring continuity before applying control signal Do not connect AC voltage to 4-20mA output terminals Label each terminal clearly corresponding to field valve tags
