Working Principle Field 4-20mA signals pass through external field termination assembly with precision resistors and fuses, then enter FC-SAI-1620M. Each channel performs cyclic analog sampling. Dual ADC chips convert analog values to digital data and cross-check measurement results. Onboard diagnostic circuit monitors loop current continuously to identify wire break, short circuit and signal out-of-limit conditions. Valid digital process values are delivered to safety controller. Fault signals are latched and reported immediately once abnormal condition is captured.
Installation Requirements
- Insert FC-SAI-1620M module into designated slot of Safety Manager rack.
- Connect module to matching field termination assembly via certified SIC ribbon cable.
- Use shielded twisted pair cable for all field transmitter wiring.
- Separate analog signal cables from high power motor and AC power cables.
- Complete protective earth connection for control cabinet and rack frame.
- Configure channel parameters in Safety Builder software after wiring completion.
- Perform channel calibration and fault simulation test before system commissioning.
Usage Notes
- Execute hot swap operation strictly following Safety Manager operating procedure.
- Do not apply voltage exceeding rated specification to signal terminals.
- Maintain cabinet environment dry and free of corrosive gas and conductive dust.
- Carry out periodic SIL proof test according to plant safety operation manual.
- Disconnect field wiring before high voltage insulation resistance test.
- Use anti-static wristband and anti-static mat when handling spare modules.
- Replace module immediately when permanent hardware fault occurs.
