Structural Characteristics
- Duplex dual fiber cable structure with two optical cores inside single outer jacket.
- Tight buffered fiber construction protects glass core from minor mechanical shock.
- Aramid yarn strength layer surrounds buffered fiber to absorb pulling force.
- Both cable ends pre-assembled with matching fiber connectors.
- Dust protection caps attached to each connector end.
- Flexible cable structure allows routing inside cable tray and cabinet.
Working Principle Electrical communication signal from controller module converts into optical signal by optical transceiver. Light signal propagates through glass fiber core of FW-23-13 cable to remote rack transceiver. Remote transceiver converts optical signal back to electrical signal for I/O module processing. Data transmits in bidirectional duplex mode. Optical medium does not conduct electric current, so electrical noise and ground potential difference cannot pass through fiber link.
Installation Requirements
- Route fiber cable separately from high voltage power cables.
- Maintain cable bend radius larger than specified minimum bend radius.
- Do not pull cable with excessive tensile force during installation.
- Remove dust caps only before inserting connector into transceiver port.
- Inspect fiber end face for dust or scratch before connection.
- Fix cable loosely in cable tray, avoid sharp edge compression.
- Verify optical link health and communication status after connection.
Usage Notes
- Do not touch ceramic ferrule end face with bare fingers.
- Keep dust caps installed when connector is not plugged into transceiver.
- Avoid stepping or heavy compression on fiber cable.
- Do not use sharp tools to strip outer jacket.
- Inspect connector end face periodically under dusty cabinet environment.
- Replace cable assembly immediately when fiber break or connector damage occurs.
