Working Principle The motor operates as a permanent magnet synchronous machine. The servo drive delivers three-phase sinusoidal current to the stator windings, creating a rotating magnetic field that interacts with rotor permanent magnets to produce torque. The single-turn inductive resolver continuously monitors rotor position, providing absolute angle information within one revolution for electronic commutation. The integrated 24 volt brake applies friction torque to the rotor when de-energized, preventing load movement during power-off conditions.
Installation Requirements
- Mount using IEC accuracy N flange for precise alignment
- Use flexible coupling accommodating minor misalignment
- Connect brake power to 24 VDC supply with proper switching
- Route cables through SpeedTec connectors ensuring proper keying
Operating Precautions
- Brake is designed for static holding, not for dynamic braking during motion
- Verify brake voltage and current requirements before installation
- Monitor resolver signal integrity in high-electrical-noise environments
- Ensure proper grounding of motor chassis and cable shields
