Working Principle The PicoDrive accepts 24 VDC input power and regulates it to drive a three-phase PWM output stage for brushless motors or a two-quadrant output for brush motors. The internal digital controller closes current and velocity loops based on command inputs and motor feedback. The compact design minimizes weight and volume while delivering sufficient current for small to medium servo motors operating at low voltage.
Installation Requirements
- Provide clean, regulated 24 VDC power supply with adequate current capacity
- Use appropriate wire gauge for 13 Amp peak current
- Mount in ventilated location avoiding direct exposure to contaminants
- Connect motor feedback cables with proper shielding and grounding
Operating Precautions
- Ensure 24 VDC supply remains stable within specified tolerance
- Verify motor current ratings are compatible with 13 Amp drive output
- Monitor drive temperature during extended operation
- Protect from moisture and conductive dust in mobile applications
- Allow adequate cooling time after peak current events
