Description
KONGSBERG RMP420
Technical Specifications Brand: KONGSBERG Model: RMP420 Power Supply: 24 VDC Signal Type: 4-20 mA analog input and 4-20 mA analog output Fieldbus: Redundant proprietary Kongsberg bus Channel Isolation: Galvanic isolation between field and control side Protection Grade: IP20 cabinet mounted Operating Temperature: -25°C ~ +70°C Humidity: 5% ~ 95% non-condensing
Functional Features High density analog I/O integration for process transmitters and modulating control valves. Redundant bus communication ensures continuous data transmission. Continuous loop diagnostics to detect transmitter wire break and short circuit. Hot-swap function supports online module replacement in redundant automation system. Front panel LED indicates module power, bus communication and channel fault status. Each analog channel has independent isolation circuit to eliminate ground loop noise. Designed to meet marine environmental requirements of shock, vibration and salt fog.
Application Scenarios Offshore platform pressure and temperature monitoring, FPSO liquid level control, ship cargo tank level measurement, marine heating and cooling process regulation, offshore pipeline flow monitoring.
Performance Parameters High precision analog conversion with low temperature drift. Fast detection of 4-20mA loop failure. Redundant bus communication keeps data transmission continuous under single bus line fault. Excellent common mode noise rejection in marine electromagnetic environment. Stable long-term measurement accuracy under salt mist atmosphere.
Material Composition Front panel: flame retardant ABS plastic. Circuit board: FR4 multilayer PCB with conformal anti-corrosion coating. Core components: high precision AD/DA chips, isolation optocouplers, signal conditioning resistors and capacitors. Backplane connector: gold plated edge connector. Indicator: SMD LED.
Structural Features Standard rack plug-in card, rear gold finger plugs into automation rack backplane. PCB partitions analog input circuit, analog output circuit and bus communication circuit. Independent signal conditioning circuit for every analog channel to prevent cross talk. Side plastic latches for easy card insertion and extraction.
Working Principle 4-20mA signals from field process transmitters feed to analog input terminals, pass isolation and conditioning circuit then convert to digital measurement data by AD chip. The module receives setpoint command from main controller, converts digital command to 4-20mA analog output signal to drive modulating control valves. All measurement and diagnostic data transmit over redundant fieldbus to central controller. The module monitors loop current continuously, triggers fault alarm when wire break or short circuit appears.
Installation Requirements Insert module into rack slot with power off and lock latches. Shielded twisted pair cable used for all analog instrument wiring, single end grounding of shield. Instrument cables routed separately from high power motor and power cables. Configure channel signal range and execute loop calibration after installation. Keep cabinet air circulation and reserve heat dissipation space.
Usage Notes Do not feed voltage signal to 4-20mA analog current channels. Check terminal tightness regularly under vessel vibration condition. Follow official maintenance procedure for hot swap. Wear anti-static wristband during card handling and replacement. Perform zero and span calibration after installing new module.
