Metso D201189

Product Introduction D201189 is a multi-channel analogue input module for Metso MAX distributed control system. It receives analogue measurement signals from field process transmitters, performs analogue to digital conversion and transmits engineering values to rack CPU. It serves as spare I/O hardware for legacy pulp, mining and mineral processing control racks. This base model does not include conformal PCB coating.

Metso D201189

Technical Specifications Supports 4-20 mA current and voltage analogue input types; per-channel overvoltage and overcurrent protection; rack 28 V DC power supply from backplane; operating temperature -20 ℃ to +70 ℃; rack plug-in form factor compatible with Metso MAX rack; per-channel status LED indicators; built-in signal low-pass filtering.

Functional Features Per-channel analogue signal conditioning and ADC conversion; open-loop detection for 4-20 mA transmitter circuits; user configurable engineering scaling and signal type; channel fault diagnostic reporting to DCS controller; front panel LED shows live channel status; cyclic data refresh to rack backplane bus.

Application Scenarios Paper mill pressure, flow and level transmitter signal acquisition, mineral concentrator process measurement, water treatment plant instrument signal monitoring, legacy Metso MAX DCS system spare replacement.

Material Composition Flame-retardant plastic module housing; FR4 measurement printed circuit board; precision analogue reference and ADC chips; surge protection components; gold-plated rack backplane edge connector; removable screw terminal blocks for field instrument wiring.

Structural Characteristics Horizontal rack plug-in module; front panel with channel status LED array and removable field wiring terminal block; rear gold finger connector interfaces with Metso MAX rack backplane; analogue signal front-end separated from digital rack bus circuits.

Working Principle Field transmitter analogue signal enters module terminal block. Signal conditioning network removes high-frequency noise and adjusts signal amplitude. Analogue-to-digital converter converts continuous analogue signal into digital numerical value. Digital measurement data is sent to rack CPU over backplane bus. Open-circuit detection identifies transmitter loop failure and triggers fault alarm.

Installation Requirements Insert module only into de-energised Metso MAX rack; connect field 4-20 mA transmitters to corresponding channel terminals; define signal range, zero and full-scale values in DCS engineering software; keep analogue signal cables separated from high-current power cables; secure terminal block screws to specified torque.

Operation Notes Perform zero and span calibration after module or transmitter replacement; confirm loop power supply setting matches transmitter specification; avoid exposure of uncoated PCB to continuous corrosive vapour; select D201126L coated variant for high-humidity pulp mill cabinets.
