Front panel: Black flame retardant ABS plastic with silk screen text and LED windows. Backplane connector: Gold plated copper alloy contact pins. Terminal housing: PA66 flame retardant plastic for Ethernet port socket.
Structural Features: Standard 1756 single slot rectangular plug-in module. Front panel with 10/100Mbps Ethernet RJ45 port and multiple LED indicators. Internal circuit divided into backplane interface unit, Ethernet communication unit and data storage unit. Built-in mechanical latch to lock module in ControlLogix chassis slot. Compact structure to save cabinet space.
Working Principle: The module is inserted into ControlLogix chassis and powered by chassis backplane. It establishes data mapping area between Modbus register and ControlLogix controller tags. As Modbus TCP client, it actively sends read and write requests to remote Modbus TCP servers. As Modbus TCP server, it responds to access requests from external Modbus TCP master devices. The module transmits data to ControlLogix processor through backplane scheduled I/O channel, and uploads diagnostic information for maintenance checking.
Installation Requirements: Power off ControlLogix chassis before inserting or removing module. Insert MVI56E-MNET module into empty single slot of 1756 chassis and lock the mechanical latch. Use shielded industrial Ethernet cable to connect module Ethernet port to network switch. Configure module IP address and Modbus communication parameters by ProSoft Configuration Builder software. Ensure control cabinet protective grounding is in good condition. Leave air gap between adjacent modules for heat dissipation.
Usage Notes: Do not plug or unplug module when chassis backplane is powered on. Backup module configuration file before firmware upgrade or parameter modification. Use industrial grade shielded Ethernet cable for long distance network wiring. Check Ethernet cable connection status and LED indicators regularly. Avoid applying static electricity to module circuit board during maintenance, wear anti-static wristband. Do not exceed rated operating temperature range of the module.
