Description
Yokogawa PW502 DCS Power Supply Module
Technical Specifications Model: PW502 Mounting Form: Plug-in DCS rack module Input: AC input Output: Multiple regulated DC outputs for DCS backplane bus Operating Temperature: 0℃ ~ +60℃ Storage Temperature: -20℃ ~ +70℃ Relative Humidity: 10% ~ 90% non-condensing Protection Function: Overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection, overtemperature protection Indicator: Power OK LED, Fault LED
Functional Features Converts AC input power to multi-channel regulated DC output for DCS rack backplane. Supports redundant parallel operation to realize uninterrupted power supply. Hot swap function supports module replacement without shutting down DCS rack. Built-in self-diagnosis function monitors internal power hardware state continuously. Power OK LED and fault LED display module running status. Low ripple DC output ensures stable operation of DCS measurement and control circuits. Multiple hardware protection circuits trigger power shutdown automatically under electrical fault. High efficiency power conversion reduces heat generation inside control cabinet.
Application Scenarios Petrochemical DCS control station, power plant thermal control rack, chemical batch production control system, pulp and paper factory process monitoring system, oil storage terminal control system.
Performance Parameters Output voltage ripple keeps low level under full rated load. Protection circuit responds rapidly to overvoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature fault. Redundant parallel mode achieves bumpless power switchover when single module fails. Output voltage maintains stable value within tolerance range with AC input fluctuation. Self-diagnosis circuit detects internal hardware abnormality and activates fault indicator. Module can run continuously for long periods under rated temperature and humidity.
Material Composition Module housing: Black flame-retardant engineering plastic. Main PCB: FR4 multi-layer industrial printed circuit board with conformal coating. Core electronic components: AC-DC switching power chip, high frequency transformer, rectifier circuit, filter capacitor, voltage/current monitoring integrated chip. Connector: Gold-plated edge connector for DCS rack backplane. Indicator: Light emitting diodes for power and fault status. Fasteners: Plastic positioning buckle.
Structural Features Rectangular plug-in module matching Yokogawa DCS rack slot dimension. Front panel equipped with power OK LED and fault LED indicators. Gold-plated edge connector on rear side for backplane bus connection. Internal layout separates high voltage AC circuit and low voltage DC circuit with isolation barrier. Ventilation openings on housing for natural convection heat dissipation. Side positioning buckle ensures accurate alignment and locking on rack slot.
Working Principle AC input power enters PW502 module through rack backplane connector. EMI filter circuit suppresses power grid interference. High-frequency switching circuit converts AC power into isolated multi-channel DC voltage. Rectifier and filter circuit reduces DC output ripple. Feedback circuit continuously samples output voltage and adjusts switching duty cycle to stabilize output value. Overvoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature monitoring circuit works in real time. When exceeding threshold, protection circuit cuts off power conversion stage and lights fault LED. Two PW502 modules work in redundant parallel state, each module can bear full rack load independently. When one module fails, the other module continues power supply without interrupting DCS control function.
Installation Requirements Cut off rack main power before installing or removing PW502 module. Align module with empty DCS rack slot, push inward until backplane connector fully inserts and buckle locks. Connect AC power wiring to rack power terminal according to specification. Power on rack and check LED indicator status. Install two PW502 modules in specified rack slots for redundant configuration. Reserve ventilation space around modules to avoid heat accumulation. Test redundant power switchover function during system commissioning.
Usage Precautions Only compatible with matched Yokogawa DCS rack system. Cut off rack AC power before plugging or unplugging module. Do not exceed rated output power of module. Redundant power configuration must be adopted for critical process control racks. Regularly clean dust on ventilation openings. Do not open module housing without professional authorization, internal high voltage components exist. Replace module when persistent fault alarm occurs.
