Structural Characteristics Single slot plug-in rack module; front panel equipped with LED indicators, sensor BNC input connectors and RS232 service port; rear gold finger connector connects to MMS6000 rack backplane; internal circuit separated for analog sensor signal and digital processing circuit.
Working Principle Vibration velocity sensor mounted on bearing housing converts mechanical vibration movement into analog electrical signal. MMS6120 module receives sensor signal, filters and amplifies the signal, converts analog signal into digital value. Internal processor compares measured vibration value with preset alarm thresholds. When vibration exceeds threshold, relay contact changes state for alarm or machine trip. Measured vibration value transmits via 4-20mA analog channel to plant control system.
Installation Requirements Power off MMS6000 rack before module insertion. Insert MMS6120 module into rack slot and lock front latch. Connect vibration velocity sensors via shielded coaxial cable. Configure measuring range and alarm threshold through front port configuration software. Complete cabinet protective earthing and perform sensor loop test.
Usage Notes Use shielded low-capacitance coaxial cable for vibration sensor wiring. Do not hot swap module during turbine operation unless rack supports hot swap. Backup module configuration parameters before replacement. Inspect sensor cable insulation resistance periodically.
