Materials and Construction

  • Housing: Flame retardant plastic or metal housing
  • PCB: FR4 circuit board
  • Relay: Electromagnetic power relay
  • Terminals: Screw copper terminals
  • Surge component: Varistor for coil surge suppression
  • LED: Status indicator

  • Rectangular module housing
  • Front panel LED indicator
  • Top and bottom screw terminal blocks
  • Internal relay coil and contact assembly
  • Internal surge suppression circuit
  • DIN rail clip at rear side

Working Principle When protection trip command energizes relay coil, the electromagnetic relay actuates instantly. Relay contacts change state and send power signal to circuit breaker trip coil. Latching circuit keeps contact state even input command disappears. Surge suppression components absorb reverse electromotive force generated by coil de-energization to protect control circuit.

Installation Requirements

  • Mount on DIN rail inside substation protection cabinet
  • Wire trip circuit with adequate cross-section cable
  • Confirm DC supply voltage matches coil rating
  • Ambient temperature kept -20 °C to +60 °C
  • Cabinet grounding connection
  • Test relay pickup and dropout after wiring
  • Separate weak signal wiring and high power trip wiring

Precautions

  • Do not exceed rated contact load
  • Check contact burnout during regular maintenance
  • Prevent coil overvoltage
  • Avoid strong electromagnetic field interference nearby
  • Store spare module in dry environment
  • Do not disassemble relay internal components
