Description
Foxboro FBM204 P0916AG
Technical Specifications
- Hardware Code: P0916AG
- Input Channels: 4 x 0-20 mA DC Analog Inputs
- Output Channels: 4 x 0-20 mA DC Analog Outputs
- Communication: Redundant 2 Mbps Module Fieldbus
- Data Conversion: Independent Sigma-Delta converters per channel
Key Features
- High-Precision Acquisition: Achieves exceptional accuracy through Sigma-Delta data conversion, providing a new analog input reading every 25 ms with configurable integration periods to eliminate process noise.
- Distributed Control (DPIDA): Capable of executing Distributed PIDA (DPIDA) applications locally, providing fast, autonomous control loops directly at the I/O level.
- Comprehensive Isolation: Every input and output channel is electrically isolated from each other and from ground, ensuring maximum noise immunity and safety.
- Hot-Swappable Design: Allows for safe online replacement without disturbing field wiring, backplane power, or communication cables.
Application Scenarios
Widely deployed in chemical, refining, and power generation industries for simultaneous measurement and control of critical process variables such as flow, pressure, and level, particularly in space-constrained cabinets.
Performance Parameters
- Input/Output Accuracy: ±0.03% of span (including linearity)
- Temperature Coefficient: ±50 ppm/°C
- Operating Temperature: 0°C to 60°C
- Power Supply: 24 VDC via backplane
Material Composition
Housed in a rugged, extruded aluminum enclosure that provides superior heat dissipation and physical protection. The internal circuitry is conformal-coated to withstand G3-class harsh industrial environments.
Structural Characteristics
Standard 200 Series FBM single-width form factor. The front panel features individual red and green LEDs for visual status indication of each channel and overall module health.
Operating Principle
The module receives analog signals from field transmitters, conditions and digitizes them using Sigma-Delta converters, and transmits the data to the controller. For outputs, it receives digital commands from the controller and generates precise 4-20 mA signals to drive final control elements like valves.
Installation Requirements
Must be mounted on a compatible Foxboro 200 Series baseplate. Field wiring connects via a designated Terminal Assembly (TA), which supports both internal and external loop-powered transmitters.
Usage Precautions
Ensure the external loop power supply voltage and current ratings are strictly within module specifications. Always observe standard ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) handling procedures during module replacement.
