Material Composition
Constructed with high-quality industrial-grade electronic components. The housing is made of black flame-retardant engineering plastic, and internal circuit boards are treated with conformal coating to resist harsh industrial environments.
Structural Characteristics
- Dimensions: Approximately 6.39 cm x 5.36 cm (varies by configuration).
- Weight: Ranges from 0.46 kg to 1.0 kg.
- Installation Type: Modular structure, inserted directly into the I/A Series FBM base or control room cabinet.
Working Principle
After loading the specific Modbus Master driver, FBM230 sends polling commands to field devices via RS-485 or RS-232 serial ports. It receives real-time data from the field devices and converts it into a format recognizable by the I/A Series system. Simultaneously, it converts control commands from the DCS system into Modbus protocol and sends them to the field devices.
Installation Requirements
Must be installed in a standard cabinet in the control room, ensuring ambient temperature is between 0°C and 60°C. Communication cables must use shielded twisted pairs and be connected strictly according to EIA standards for RS-485 multi-drop or RS-232 point-to-point connections, ensuring proper grounding.
Precautions for Use
When configuring multiple ports, ensure that the protocol and baud rate settings of each port strictly match the connected field devices. Always disconnect power when wiring or plugging/unplugging modules to prevent electrostatic damage to internal precision electronic components.
