Material Composition:

  • PCB: 4-layer with thermocouple-grade low-thermal-EMF connectors
  • Connectors: Gold-plated thermocouple terminal blocks
  • Housing: Aluminum with EMI shield

Working Principle: Each thermocouple input is connected to a precision amplifier that measures the microvolt-level signal. The cold junction temperature is measured by an on-board sensor and used to compensate the reading. The compensated temperature is digitized by a 16-bit A/D and sent to the CPU via backplane. Installation Requirements:

  • Use thermocouple extension wire of the same type as the sensor
  • Maintain proper polarity at all connections
  • Keep thermocouple wires away from power cables (minimum 150 mm separation)

Usage Precautions:

  • Never mix thermocouple types on the same module without reconfiguration
  • Verify cold junction sensor is not exposed to heat sources
  • Calibrate against a reference thermometer annually
