Working Principle: The PUAA pack interfaces with field devices through a terminal board, acquiring analog and digital signals from sensors and driving analog and digital outputs to actuators. Each of the 16 channels is software-configured via ControlST for a specific signal type. The pack performs onboard signal conditioning, A/D conversion, and diagnostics, then transmits processed data to the Mark VIe controller over dual redundant IONet Ethernet ports at frame rates as fast as 10 ms. The pack supports hot-swap replacement and automatic reconfiguration for firmware updates. Installation Requirements:
- Mount on a compatible terminal board in a Mark VIe I/O node using DIN-rail or panel mounting
- Connect 28 V DC module power via the 3-pin power input
- Wire field signals to the terminal board, utilizing the independently wireable sections for per-channel commissioning
- Connect one or two Ethernet cables to the RJ-45 ports; when using dual connections, ENET1 should connect to the R controller network
- Configure each channel using ControlST V7.02.00C or later
- Ensure firmware version V05.03.00C or later is loaded for full functionality
Usage Notes:
- Confirm ControlST version compatibility (V7.02.00C or later) before deployment
- Verify PUAA firmware version (V05.03.00C or later) for automatic reconfiguration support
- Use the independently wireable black sections to enable per-channel commissioning without disrupting other channels
- Ensure proper grounding and shielding for analog signal wiring to maintain accuracy
- Monitor diagnostics in ControlST for open-circuit, over-range, and channel health status
- The module supports hot-swap replacement, but follow GE procedures to avoid disruption
- Select HART-enabled modes where HART communication with field devices is required
