Working Principle The chassis provides the physical and electrical foundation for the Trusted TMR system. The triple redundant backplane distributes power and communication signals to all installed modules. Three independent Inter-Module Bus paths ensure that data exchanged between processors and I/O modules maintains integrity even if one path fails. The chassis design supports hot-swap of modules and provides mechanical retention against vibration.
Installation Requirements
- Mount in 19-inch rack or industrial enclosure
- Provide 20 to 32 VDC system power with adequate capacity
- Ensure adequate ventilation for 80 Watt total dissipation
- Use proper cable management for I/O and communication cables
- Ground chassis per electrical code requirements
Operating Precautions
- Verify all modules are properly seated and retained
- Monitor chassis temperature and airflow
- Do not operate with empty slots unshielded, use T8193 shields
- Maintain processor redundancy, replace faulted modules promptly
- Follow IEC 61508 maintenance procedures for SIL 3 systems
