KUKA KSD1-32

Product Introduction KUKA KSD1-32 is high-current single-axis servo amplifier in KUKA KR C4 drive series. It shares the same hardware architecture and bus protocol with KSD1-16, with larger continuous output current to drive heavy-load robot main axis. It receives motion command from KPC4 controller, implements high-torque closed-loop servo control for robot heavy joint, integrates STO safety function and comprehensive fault diagnosis. It is used for main axis drive of heavy payload KUKA KR C4 robots.

Application Scenarios Heavy payload KUKA KR C4 robot main axis drive; Automotive heavy handling robot joint; Foundry robot heavy load axis; Large palletizing robot primary axis control.

Performance Parameters Operating ambient temperature 0℃ to +55℃; Storage temperature -40℃ to +85℃; Relative humidity 5% to 90%, no condensation; Functional safety certification for robot safety circuit.

Material Composition Metal alloy housing with enlarged heat sink; High-current IGBT power module; Multi-layer power PCB; DSP control chip; High-precision current sensors; Power filter capacitors; Screw high-current terminals and signal terminals.

Structural Characteristics Rack-mounted vertical module with larger power capacity; High-current power terminals at bottom, encoder and bus signal terminals at top; Internal isolation layout between high-power circuit and low-voltage signal circuit; Rear side large-area heat sink for forced air cooling.

Working Principle DC bus power is input to drive internal rectifier and power circuit. DSP chip receives real-time trajectory command from KPC4, generates PWM pulse to control IGBT module, outputs large current three-phase AC to heavy-load robot servo motor. Motor position feedback signal returns to drive for closed-loop adjustment. Protection circuit monitors power circuit status continuously. STO safety circuit cuts off motor torque output immediately when safety trigger signal arrives.

Installation Requirements Install module on KR C4 rack and lock buckle. Ensure cabinet cooling air flow passes through heat sink. Use heavy-duty shielded motor cable. Separate power wiring and signal wiring. Complete reliable protective earthing. After power-on, execute motor parameter self-identification and verify STO safety interlock function.

Usage Notes Wait for DC bus capacitor discharge before wiring disassembly. Check terminal tightness regularly for high-current circuit. Keep heat sink free of dust accumulation. Backup axis parameters before module replacement. Do not operate without proper motor load matching.
