NI SCXI-1000

Product Introduction NI SCXI-1000 is 4-slot signal conditioning chassis for National Instruments SCXI signal conditioning system. This chassis supplies power and internal analog/digital bus communication for up to four SCXI signal conditioning modules. It amplifies, filters, isolates and multiplexes low-level field sensor signals before sending data to NI DAQ devices. It serves as signal conditioning platform for data acquisition and measurement systems.

Description

NI SCXI-1000

Technical Specifications Brand: NI (National Instruments) Model: SCXI-1000 Slot Quantity: 4 slots for SCXI modules Power Supply: Built-in internal power supply Backplane: SCXI analog and digital bus Operating Temperature: 0°C to +50°C Humidity: 10% to 90% non-condensing Protection Grade: IP20 cabinet mounting Mounting: Desktop or panel mounting Status Indicator: Power LED indicator

Functional Features Accommodate maximum four SCXI signal conditioning modules. Built-in power supply provides stable power to all installed SCXI modules. SCXI backplane implements analog signal multiplexing and digital control communication between modules and DAQ hardware. Isolate low-level sensor signals from high voltage industrial noise. Front panel power switch and power status LED indicator. Compatible with wide range of SCXI analog input, analog output, relay and temperature measurement modules. Transmit conditioned multiplexed signal to NI DAQ card through front or rear connector.

Application Scenarios Industrial sensor data acquisition, laboratory multi-channel temperature measurement, vibration signal collection, machine condition monitoring, test bench measurement system, automated product test equipment.

Performance Parameters Stable power output for multiple SCXI modules. Low noise backplane signal transmission for weak sensor signals. High channel multiplexing speed for multi-channel sampling. Strong EMC noise suppression for low-level measurement signals. Consistent bus timing for synchronized multi-channel data collection.

Material Composition Enclosure: Cold rolled steel metal chassis with powder coating. Backplane PCB: FR4 multilayer printed circuit board. Internal Power Supply: Switching power supply assembly. Connectors: Gold plated module slot connectors, external signal connectors. Front Panel: Painted steel panel with power switch and LED indicator.

Structural Features Rigid rectangular metal box structure. Four horizontal module slots on front panel for SCXI module insertion. Internal backplane mounted at rear of slots, connects each module. Built-in switching power supply occupies rear section of chassis. Front panel power switch and power indicator LED. Rear panel carries external I/O connectors and power inlet.

Working Principle Mains power enters built-in switching power supply and generates multiple DC voltage rails for SCXI modules. When SCXI modules are inserted into slots, modules connect to internal SCXI backplane bus. Field sensor signals enter each module for amplification, filtering and isolation. Modules multiplex multiple input channels onto analog bus. DAQ hardware controls channel selection through digital bus and reads conditioned analog measurement signals.

Installation Requirements Place chassis on flat desktop or mount onto control cabinet panel. Connect mains power to chassis power inlet. Insert SCXI modules into front slots and lock module latches. Connect SCXI bus cable from chassis to NI DAQ device. Install signal wiring to module front terminals. Reserve ventilation clearance around chassis for heat dissipation.

Usage Notes Do not overload chassis power supply beyond total power rating of installed modules. Disconnect mains power before inserting or removing SCXI modules. Use shielded cable for low-level sensor signal wiring. Keep chassis ventilation openings unblocked.
