ProSoFt MVI56-PDPMV1

Product Introduction: ProSoft MVI56-PDPMV1 is a classic generation PROFIBUS DP-V1 master communication module for Rockwell ControlLogix 1756 chassis. It serves as PROFIBUS DP-V1 master station to realize data communication between ControlLogix processor and PROFIBUS DP-V0 / DP-V1 slave field devices. It completes cyclic real-time I/O data transmission and DP-V1 acyclic parameter access. This classic module relies on backplane port for configuration and diagnosis. It is widely used in legacy industrial automation projects to connect PROFIBUS drives, remote I/O and field instruments to ControlLogix control system.

Description

ProSoFt MVI56-PDPMV1

Technical Specifications: Chassis: 1756 ControlLogix single slot Backplane bus: ControlLogix backplane PROFIBUS interface: 9-pin D-sub PROFIBUS DP port Operating temperature range: 0℃ ~ +60℃ Storage temperature range: -40℃ ~ +85℃ Humidity: 5% ~95%, non-condensing Protocol: PROFIBUS DP-V1 Master, compatible DP-V0 slaves Configuration mode: Configure via ControlLogix backplane channel Protection grade: IP20

Functional Features: Act as PROFIBUS DP-V1 master station for PROFIBUS DP field bus network. Support cyclic real-time I/O data exchange and DP-V1 acyclic parameter access and diagnosis. Monitor PROFIBUS bus status and slave online/offline state continuously. Built-in bus fault detection and fault information storage function. LED indicators to show module power, bus running and fault status. Data mapping between PROFIBUS slave data and ControlLogix controller tags.

Application Scenarios: Old factory PROFIBUS bus renovation project, metallurgy rolling line, paper making automation, water treatment plant bus control, chemical plant legacy DCS and PLC system, material handling PROFIBUS control network.

Performance Parameters: Support standard PROFIBUS DP baud rate options. Cyclic data exchange with ControlLogix controller via backplane I/O channel. DP-V1 acyclic channel for reading slave diagnostic information and device parameters. Continuous operation: 24-hour stable continuous operation in standard industrial cabinet environment. Bus fault response: Rapidly capture bus communication failure and slave offline events.

Material Composition: PCB substrate: FR4 high temperature resistant glass fiber epoxy printed circuit board. Electronic components: PROFIBUS protocol processor, memory chip, bus isolation optocoupler. Front panel: Flame retardant ABS plastic with LED windows. PROFIBUS connector: 9 pin D-sub metal shell connector. Backplane connector: Gold plated copper alloy contact pins.

Structural Features: Standard 1756 single-slot plug-in module. Front panel equipped with 9 pin D-sub PROFIBUS interface and LED indicator lights. Internal circuit consists of backplane interface circuit and PROFIBUS protocol processing circuit. Mechanical latch for locking module inside chassis slot. Built-in bus signal isolation circuit to suppress field bus interference.

Working Principle: The module gets power from ControlLogix chassis backplane and works as PROFIBUS DP-V1 master station. It periodically sends output data to all PROFIBUS slave devices on the bus and reads input data returned by slaves. The DP-V1 acyclic channel supports reading device diagnosis data and modifying slave parameters. All bus data is mapped into ControlLogix controller tag area through backplane bus. The module continuously monitors bus communication quality and reports fault status to ControlLogix processor.

Installation Requirements: Cut off chassis power supply before module installation or removal. Insert module into empty single slot of 1756 chassis and lock mechanical latch. Connect field PROFIBUS shielded twisted pair cable to 9 pin D-sub port. Configure bus parameters, slave station list and data mapping through configuration software via backplane. Connect cabinet protective earth ground reliably. Leave heat dissipation gap between adjacent modules.

Usage Notes: Module hot swap is not allowed when chassis is powered on. Install PROFIBUS matching terminal resistor at two ends of PROFIBUS bus cable. Backup project configuration before replacing module or modifying bus parameters. Use certified PROFIBUS shielded twisted pair cable for field wiring. Check bus shielding and terminal resistor regularly during routine maintenance. Avoid static damage to circuit board during maintenance, wear anti-static wristband.
